Thank you for stopping by JLH. This is a little information about me and how I got started boarding dogs.

My name is Lyn Jones and I own, breed and show my dogs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

In 1998 we bought our first Cavalier and in 2000 after doing health testing we had our first litter of puppies.

As my new puppy owner went on vacation they asked me if I could watch their Cavaliers. So I found I enjoyed watching the different Cavaliers and also saw how it energized my dogs. So with watching other dogs it has had a positive effect on mine and now puppy watching has grown into Just Like Home Dog Boarding. I am a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.

The Facility: Guests live inside the house as part of the family and are not kept in kennels. We use our 1000 sq ft fully finished walk out basement/family room plus 3 fenced exterior areas for our dog family and visitors. AKC brand fencing is special dog coat friendly welded wire (not chain link) with full time access via doggie doors. The facility has central heat and air conditioning. Radio or TV playing with dog beds, pillows and a low mattress available for comfortable lounging. We even have two bedroom suites for guests that prefer privacy. Registered with the county as a breeder with multiple dogs the home is annually inspected for compliance for housing multiple dogs. The business is covered by Liability Insurance that includes Care, Custody and Control coverage of dogs we are working with.

Meals: We pay special attention to your dogs feeding routine to ensure a happy and healthy stay. Please bring sufficient supply of your own dog food.  We do not recommend a sudden change in your dog's diet.  Along with food, please bring written feeding and treat instructions. Don't be embarrassed to tell us about special things you may do in preparation of the food and treat practices (does Precious get a treat after going outside?).  We would prefer to keep them on their normal routine and have done many "unique" things during feeding time. We use Charlee Bear treats which are low calorie and corn/soy free.

Requirements: All dogs must be interviewed by our dog family and staff prior to their first visit.  This lets everyone feel comfortable that their dog will work out in this type of environment, both for their safety and that of the other guests.  We currently only accept dogs under 50 pounds, they must be neutered or spayed, current with their shots and flea free. (we may watch medium size dogs with evaluation and if low energy)

If your dog is just a little shy around other dogs, he/she may benefit from slowly building their confidence in doggy daycare or 1/2 day daycare before trying an overnight stay. Special care is given to slowly introduce "only child" animals to other dogs.

Required Vaccinations: (vaccinations should be given at least 2 weeks before boarding)
Rabies and Distemper combination - As recommended by your vet
Bordatella - every 6 Months

Drop off Hours:
7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday
8:30 am - 5:30 pm Saturday & Sunday
(7:00 am - 8:30 pm any day by prior arrangement)
In operation to watch your dog but closed for drop-offs or pick-ups on major holidays.
Please be considerate and call if you need to cancel or change your drop off time. We do not over book so if you can not make it a call will allow us to re-open the space for someone else.
